Chapter 120. A New Family?

Reading felt like such a calm and relaxing experience. I could not remember the last time I had done that.

Considering the kind of life I had, I honestly did not have the chance to just sit and read; something was always happening.

But right now, I was finally able to do that. My heart was still heavy and I felt like I could break down and cry any second but regardless, this was way better than being alone in the woods, soaking wet and crying my eyes out.

After half an hour, May had fallen asleep and I was just sitting there, not able to read anymore.

Reading would have been a nice escape but this time, I don’t even think an imaginary world could distract me.

I grabbed the blanket and placed it on her before heading to the other couch. I was not going to leave her alone, she did not do that to me, why would I do it to her?

I relaxed and picked up the book but it was not as easy as I felt it would have been to start reading the words on the pale pages.
