Chapter 154. Interrogation

His question threw me off guard. I did not know how to reply and my heart skipped a beat as nervousness filled me. “Wh—what?” I stuttered the word out as I tried to look everywhere but in his eyes. 

“You heard me, Rue. Where were you last night?” He asked the question again, shooting it my way. “I saw you come in.” 

It clicked immediately. The person who I had seen watching me last night when I had come back was him, it was Darco. Sh*t. How was I going to explain this one? 

There was no way that I could tell him the truth, so I needed a lie, and I needed it fast. “Um…I went for a jog.” 

“You were not in running clothes, don’t lie to me, omega.” He frowned as he took a few steps closer to me. He seemed annoyed but most of all, he seemed very intrigued. He really wanted to know what I was up to last night. 

“I’m not lying, I swear,” I tried to keep the lie going but it was so hard to do that when the piercing green eyes of the dark alpha
