Chapter 24. A Bloody Nose

Zach’s expression hardened, his eyes narrowing at the man. “Bullsh*t…I don’t care about your exclusivity, Steve. Rue is with me, and she stays. I won’t have her treated differently all because of some arbitrary ranking system.”

The man sighed, frustration plastered on his face. “Alpha Zach, I can’t just make exceptions. You know this. It’s going to cause a stir, and I have to think about the reputation of the restaurant. You know how the pack politics work.”

The Alpha’s jaw clenched. “Look man, if you have a problem with my date being here, you have a problem with me. And I think we all know how that will end.”

Just as the manager was about to speak, the diplomatic couple that were sitting not far from us stood to their feet, the guy talking in not such a low tone, “He’s an Alpha, I don’t get why he is dining with trash like her.”
