Chapter 181. Leaving

“Rue?” The voice called out again, my heart pounding in my chest. I swallowed hard and turned to see that it was Jade, the omega who had helped me earlier. “Is everything okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” She joked, chuckling to herself. 

I really did not have the time for this. I forced a chuckle, which only came out nervous and dry. “Can we please talk outside?” I asked her. She did not even know that I was kind of begging her. 

“Yeah, sure,” She replied, following me out of the house. I made sure to close the door slowly and as quietly as I could. I really did not want to have Darco see me or anything close to that. 

Right now, I just wanted to leave. 

“I need to leave,” I confessed to her. “I need to go back to the pack.” 

She seemed taken aback by this. She stopped walking and as much as I wanted to get her to continue walking, I did not want to make it too obvious. “I—I don’t get it. Why do you want to leave? Don’t you li
