Chapter 186. Back at May's

My feet made a small sound every time it would hit the sidewalk. I was heading over to May and Alan’s place, fingers crossed that they would accept me. I had nowhere else to go and I did not want to think too much about that because I knew that it would just wreck my heart. 

The full moon looked down on me and even though I felt like it was mocking me, I could feel some weird sense of peace from it. I kept walking, a few people walked past me and they stared but I continued. 

I walked, stuck inside of my head until I finally reached the neighborhood. It was quiet and I knew that this area in the pack was mostly like this, but for some reason, I felt like it was even quieter tonight. 

I closed the distance between me and the front porch of the house, glancing at the dog lying there. When it saw me, its head shot up and I expected it to bark but it didn’t; almost as if it knew me.
