Chapter 223. Silver Eyes

Even the air around me felt different—crisper, charged with an energy that was almost tangible. It was overwhelming, yet exhilarating at the same time. 

Darco’s eyes studied me intently, a mixture of fascination and wariness in his gaze. “How do you feel?” He asked, his tone softer than usual, and filled with some excitement. It was like he had just opened a gift from under the Christmas tree and it was something that he had always wanted. 

That was the look on his face. 

I swallowed hard, trying to steady my voice. “I feel…different,” I confessed. “It’s like I can do anything and that at my fingertips, I hold power.” 

His lips curved into a small smile, though it did not quite reach his eyes. “That is because you’re not the same person you were before. Like you said, you’re different. Why don’t we head out of here so we can meet your friends?” 

I smiled, my mind shifting away from what was going on and towards Sue and the others. “Yea
