Chapter 272. Death?

The moment I let go, everything changed. 

The rushing, suffocating force of the water–the cold, the weight of it pressing against my chest—disappeared. It felt like I was floating, weightless, suspended between worlds. 

My body, though still underwater, no longer felt bound by fear. I could breathe, or could I? Or was I dying? Was this what death felt like? Was this what it was like to drown? 

Do you want to know something funny? Drowning was one of my biggest fears. And here I was, doing just that. All because I had listened to a voice that I had thought was the Moon goddess. 

Why would she lead me to death? It made me confused. It made me worry if I was sane enough for this journey that was set before me.
