Chapter 279. Some News

I sighed heavily, leaning against the door for a moment as the weight of it all pressed down on me. Forty-eight hours. That was not much time, and everything seemed stacked against me. 

My only lead, Alan, might now be in a cell, and even if I managed to reach him, I doubt that he would even want to help me. 

I glanced around the studio apartment. It was modern, pristine, and completely unfamiliar. For the past few months, I had never really been in one place. I had been from one place to another, and this place was just another stopping point too.
