Chapter 273. The Chambers

I stared at him, my brain struggling to process the information he had just dropped. I think it was because I was still reeling from the fact that I had literally drowned in the spirit world and had been shoved into the real world just minutes ago. 

So yeah, I needed a few more minutes to really grasp what I had been told. But I knew that I did not have that much time, did I? 

My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to calm myself, but the anxiety that had been gnawing at the edges of my mind since waking up in this place came crashing back.

I was not ready. I was not ready for any of this. I was not ready to go back to the chambers; the very place that I had almost been choked to death by Storm. I was not ready. No, I was ready to see Elder Robert face to face, not after what he had done to Vanessa and had literally framed me for it. 

I did not know what I would do if I were to see him. But I knew that it was not going to be anything good.
