Chapter 17. Healing the Maid

Isla's POV:

I couldn't breathe evenly as I stood stuck at the entrance of the kitchen. For some reason I had imagined Alpha Caden following me to the kitchen and punishing the hell out of me for being so careless around him. I winced as I touched the mark on my neck, feeling a cold connection to him. I felt his hate and disgust for me, and I felt the same for him. I was his mate, but he was not mine. I almost thought he was right behind me but to my relief, when I glanced behind , he wasn't in sight.

I greeted the other pack members I met on the way to kitchen. They looked at me with pity and contempt, some of them with disgust and anger.

I knew that everyone hated me for being Alpha Caden's breeder as they thought I had sold myself to him.Some of them thought I was too weak and less powerful for him to give an heir.
