Chapter 5. Glass Vase

The cab soon arrived at the dry cleaning company. Kavinsky got out, carrying his laundry basket along with him. He entered the waiting room and went directly to the receptionist behind the marble counter. She was typing something on her computer when he got there. He knocked twice on the counter to get her attention.
The receptionist looked up and grinned as soon as she saw him.
"Kavinsky," she called out with a smile, standing up from her seat.
"Hi, I'm here to drop some clothes," he said, getting straight to the point.
"Oh!" she said sharply, sounding a bit disappointed. "But of course, you’re in a dry cleaning company, so—" she added, trailing off.
"Yeah, obviously," Kavinsky replied nonchalantly.
"Pass it here. I’ll make the arrangements quickly," she said, beckoning to the laundry basket he was holding.
