I made sure Dean left the house. I saw him leaving in his car through the office window. I took my phone and called Damon.

"Good morning, Carla."

"Damon, the police are looking for Mariana. They suspect it might be a kidnapping, or someone helped her escape. Have you managed to get any information from her? Do you know what she did to make Dean find out about my son?"

"No. I haven't been able to get any information from her. She's tough. They have no intentions of talking."

"Then start with her mother. It's an order, Damon. She needs to realize that we're serious when we threaten her. Pressure her. Do something!" I shouted.

I hung up the call and left the office to go to the stairs. The maid was going to bring water to Lena, but I snatched the glass from her hands and asked her to go to the kitchen.
