Carla was surprised when Dean let Jake and me pass. Jake and I were also surprised, but Jake didn't hesitate for a second to take my hand and descend the remaining stairs to leave. We headed towards the door. Everyone watched us, but we didn't care and continued on our way. When I felt the breeze of fresh air hitting my body, I knew I was finally free. Jake rescued me like a knight in shining armor. He promised to always be with me, and he kept his word. He didn't care that he had recently come out of a coma. He only cared about my well-being and that of my children.
