Chapter 37. They've Moved Here

DEAN

I returned home after arriving in Seattle. It's been a long and exhausting journey. I didn't know if Carla would be there. I entered my house and searched for Carla everywhere, but she was not there. I checked the closet and found her clothes, but very little remained. Carla didn't lie when she told me our relationship was over, as she took most of her clothes with her.

I called her repeatedly, left messages, and told her I was in the city and wanted to see her, but she ignored me the entire time. I looked for her at her house and couldn't find her either.

I called my best friend.

"Dean. How's everything?" he answered.

Since the day I went to Los Angeles, I hadn't spoken to Zed.

"Aren't you still mad at me?"

"I'm always mad at you, but I love you, brother. What happened? What do you need from me?"

"Carla. I know nothing about her."

"You said
