Chapter 42. She's Evil

I learned that Lena and Jake invited my pack to a party at a prestigious hotel ballroom. Carla and I didn't receive an invitation. I found out thanks to my best friend, who handed me the card he received. Lena and Jake didn't clarify the reason for the celebration, but I assumed it was because both of them returned to the city.

I shared the news with Carla. I thought she would be angry with my comment, but she insisted we go. I didn't refuse because I wanted to see Lena. I needed to talk to her alone. Since Jake and she came to the city, I heard nothing from Lena. I don't even know where they lived. Zed investigated Jake and found the address of his new house. I wanted to go see her, but I waited for the party.

Carla and I sneaked into the party without an invitation. I bribed the security guard to let us in. The guy didn't resist my money.

I saw Lena a few minutes after entering the party. I know she saw me, and I know Jake did
