Chapter 39. I Didn't Invite Them
LENA
I didn't stay at my parent's house waiting for a response from them because I knew what their answer would be. I had an impulse. Telling them about my children was a mistake I would regret, as my parents wouldn't leave me alone. I gave them another reason to insist that Dean is the man for me.
Jake followed me and got into the car.
"Lena, I'm really sorry for what happened in there. You can cry," he encouraged.
And so I did. I clung to his arms and cried.
"They don't support me. They never support me in anything."
"You heard what your mother said. They didn't support you because of the curse. That's why they insisted so much."
"Are you defending them?" I questioned.
"No, I'm not defending them. Your parents are not bad. They want your happiness, but they also want you to be okay. They tried to prevent the curse from appearing, but it was too late.
