Chapter 67. There's Something I Have to Tell You

Zed got another wheelchair for me. I don't know where he stole it from, but he dressed in doctor's clothes not to raise suspicions. He left me alone so that the doctor could attend to me and check on my baby. My doctor couldn't see Zed dressed like that.
The doctor applied gel to my belly and searched for signs of life from my babies. I crossed my fingers.
"Breathe, dear," he asked. "You have to stay calm."
"I fell, and I'm scared of losing them."
