Chapter 69

Lucas’s POV

It was this day twenty two years ago I was born, and whenever this day came, I spent it hunting alone in the wilderness. It was the perfect way to clear my head and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors.

I began the process of saddling my horse, making sure everything was in place for the adventure ahead. Then I gathered my bag of hunting materials and attached it securely to the horse. Each strap and buckle needed to be just right. Once I was satisfied, I mounted the horse.

A light slap on the horse’s hindquarters and we were off, galloping toward the grand entrance of the castle gates. The wind rushed past me, tousling my hair and rustling my clothes as I urged the horse onward.

While I waited for the gates to open, I glanced back and saw Lordan riding closer on his horse. I didn’t think twice before I set my steed into a full gallop out of the castle.
