Chapter 68
Eliza’s POV
I was blindfolded and had my world reduced to darkness. I was made to ride on the back of a horse. Someone had bundled me out of the room where I had been earlier held captive by Dorra, tightly gagged, with no inkling of where I was being taken or what awaited me.
My strength had waned, and I pleaded for water through my muffled voice. The horse suddenly came to a halt, and I heard someone say, “Water.”
Before I knew it, a handful of cold water was splashed over my face. I thirstily licked the water droplets from my lips, but it was far from enough.
I begged for more water, but my pleas fell on deaf ears.
Once again, I was hoisted onto the horse, and my captors remained silent as we continued our journey. The sound of hooves eventually stopped, and I was lifted off the horse and led away by strong hands.
“Please, where are you taking me? What are you going to do to me?” I cried.
