Chapter 41
Timothy watched the small black woman hold Selene. He had watched both of them come out of the house when the woman held Selene’s hands.
Selene’s face looked so sad once the woman started talking that he almost charged at the woman for making Selene come close to crying from her words. He tuned in to their conversation with his heightened hearing to know what exactly the woman was saying to make Selene sad.
Once he figured out that the woman was speaking about the death of Selene’s mother and brother, he became angry. He was angry at the woman for bringing the topic up even though he could tell she meant well. He did not like seeing Selene sad. Whenever he saw her sad, it made his heart squeeze painfully.
