Chapter 153. Closure and Acceptance
Standing outside the courtroom, my heart was pounding, not just for myself but for Keira as well. Her hand clutched mine tightly, and I could feel the tension in her grip. She was taking deep breaths, trying to steady herself before we entered.
“Keira, you are doing great,” I said, my voice soft and reassuring. “Just take it one step at a time. I am right here with you.”
She nodded, her eyes still filled with apprehension. “I know, Clint. He tried to attack me the last time. What if he does that here, too?.” I made my fears known.
“I understand, Keira. But you have come so far already. He can’t do shit when we put him away for good,” I said, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “You are brave, and you are doing the right thing. Okay?”
