Chapter 60

Isla ran a brush through her sun-kissed hair as she gazed into the vanity mirror. Her cell phone chimed.  Her eyes searched for it and saw it on the bed. She grasped it and hit the answer call button.

“Hello, Isla,” Isabella said.

Isla was a little surprised. Why was Isabella calling her at this time of the day?

“How are you?” Isla mouthed.

“Good. I'm doing my wedding dress shopping today, and I was wondering if you could accompany me.”

Anger coursed through Isla. But she kept her calm.

"But your wedding is still six months away," she said.

"I know. I just want to go shopping for it today. Who knows? I might change my mind about it later and get another one. So, would you accompany me?"

“I would love to,” she pretended to sound excited.

“Well then, I'll come to the estate to pick you up in thirty minutes. Is that okay?”

“Yes. I'll get dressed immediately.”
