Both brothers have not stopped staring at each other challengingly. I feel anxious about the way they are constantly observing each other without saying a word. The younger Moore does not give in, and the older one only waits for the perfect opportunity to sink his brother with a hateful and arrogant comment.
"Gabriel and I have a mutual acquaintance. That's what we were talking about," I mention carefully, and both pairs of eyes fall on me. Gabriel's gaze softens, but Daniel only looks at me as if I had lost a screw or was lying to him.
"What person could you know that knows my brother?"
"Was your comment meant to humiliate me, Mr. Moore? I remind you that you are just a person, like him," I point to his brother, "and like me."
"I remind you that you shouldn't speak to me like that because you work for me."
"I'm not going to allow you to humiliate me whenever you want."
