Chapter 54. I Know You

A few days later.

At a bar, Rita sat and drank while waiting for Lucien.
When he arrived, she dismissed her security and assistant waiting behind her, but Lucien didn’t send Charles out.

“The police are investigating Russo and his cartel,” she said, and Lucien nodded.
“You know?”

“I involved them. If I didn’t, the whole thing would spiral out of control. I have a project in that part of the city; I don’t want them to ruin things for me.”

“Oh. So I have nothing to worry about then,” Rita laughed.
“I knew once they started the investigation on Russo, they’d delve into others, but since they are being stringed by you, we have no problem then. It’s just... his kids... his girls, they’re missing. Do you think the police will be able to find them before any of these psychos involved kills them...”
She paused at the thoug
