After a few hours had passed, shortly before noon, the central police raided the central building of the companies affiliated with Aras Remor. The raid was prompted by reports accusing the head of the company group of kidnapping some club managers and detaining them on the top floor of the central building. The reports also implicated men affiliated with the company in the armed attack against the Murphy liquor stores. The police had obtained a search warrant for the building mentioned in the reports.

The police commander confronted the branch manager with an angry expression when the manager refused to accompany them to the last five floors. Pointing to the door leading to the staircase, the director said, “Sorry, this is my limit. You can take your men and go up from there. The last five floors belong to the company owner, his agents, and their secretarial staff.”
