Patrick Banks POV

The room fell into a thick choking silence.

Then my mother’s eyes darted between me and Benjamin. “What did he just say?” She asked slowly, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Nothing,” I replied.

“I said he’s a murderer!” Benjamin repeated, his eyes fixed on me. “You think he’s your perfect innocent son, but I know about everything that he has done.”

My fists curled into a ball. “You better watch your mouth,” I warned him.

“Or what?” Benjamin asked with a scoff.

My mother stood up abruptly, her eyes filled with fear. “What is going on? Who did you kill, Patrick?” She demanded, her voice cracking.

“I didn’t kill anybody, I’m not a murderer!” I snapped, my voice defensive. “Benjamin has no idea what he is talking about.”
