Chapter 121
Patrick Banks POV
“You really have some nerves showing your face here.” My mother’s angry voice echoed from behind me as I made my way to the car.
I closed my eyes momentarily, letting out a quiet sigh before turning around to meet her gaze. “Can you not cause a scene here? People are watching.”
She glared at me. “What? You don’t want everyone to know that you killed your brother and still came to his funeral to speak without permission?”
I shook my head. “How long will you continue to go on with this narrative?” I asked, raising a brow at her. “If you don’t stop calling me a murderer, I’ll have to sue you for defamation of character.” I threatened, my voice firm.
But I didn’t mean it.
Even though her recent behavior was getting on my last nerves, I couldn’t do something like that to my mother. I just hoped that it was a phase that would eventually pass away.
She was still grieving, hence, her behavior — at least that was the line I used to
