Patrick Banks POV

“I just wanted to call and see if you’ll be coming by the house today.” My mother’s gentle voice echoed through the other end of the line.

I loved being around my mother.

Recently, she made me attend events with her.

But she had interior motives and I could see right through her.

I had been spending a lot of time with her and it was fun, but I needed a break.

“You know that I won’t be here for long, so spend all the time you can get with me now.” She added her regular line.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Ma, I practically spent the whole of yesterday with you.” I had to remind her in case she had forgotten. “I have an important meeting today. I’ll drop by your house if I have any chance.”

“Fine.” She sighed, clearly not impressed by my response. “Make sure you stop by.”

I nodded even though she couldn’t see me. “Yes, I’ll try.”
