Patrick Banks POV

I won.

I was worried at first, but after a series of court cases, the judge finally granted me temporary full custody of my son.

Valerie didn’t seem too thrilled about it. I saw the way she looked at me with hate and disappointment in her eyes. If looks could kill, I would have dropped dead on that spot.

I knew she was angry, but she’d eventually understand why I did it.

After she left with her mother, Jessica approached me.

Initially, I was confused when I saw her in the courtroom. What business did she have with the custody hearing? It wasn’t like Valerie even wanted her there. I was certain that she invited herself.

“Congratulations, I guess.” She said with a chuckle as she looked at me. “I mean, I could’ve easily told her about the bribe just to ruin everything, but I realized that I could do something better with the information.”

My heart skipped a beat.
