Chapter 11

Summer’s POV

The next day, I went to the police station where Celine had been taken into custody. I had been meaning to do this the evening before, however; I had no one to turn to for help in locating where she had been detained. It was a stroke of luck that the news of her whereabouts spread quickly like a wildfire on the internet, and I was able to discover her location.

But when I got there, I was confronted with the bitter smell of disappointment.

“We’re sorry. She can’t bail out, Missus Carter.”

“What? It was merely a self-defense…” I was baffled, but not shocked that such a thing could occur because Celine and I had offended a powerful family. Yet I still tried to explain my case to the police, though I knew they wouldn't be able to help.

“But there is no evidence to say that what Miss Celine did was self-defense. If there is something to prove it or even a small piece of evidence, we will definitely investigate the case thoroughly,”
