Chapter 13
Summer’s POV
Even though I haven't completely come back from my reverie, I hurry to stand up as if I will to stumble. I quickly grabbed my bag and ran towards him without him noticing, since he had his back turned towards me.
He was about to get into the driver's seat when I shouted, “Steven! Wait, please!”
Thankfully, he halted in his tracks, his eyebrows meeting as he turned to me with a solemn expression and asked, “It's already late. Why are you still here? And why did you come here in the first place?”
I adjusted the bag on my shoulder and gripped it before I gave him an answer. “It's about Celine—”
“You aren't expecting me to help you with that, aren't you? Because I won't.” He turned around and was about to get into the car again, but I grabbed his wrist and gave him a pleading expression.
