Chapter 14
Summer’s POV
I plopped down on the bench at the police station and swiped away the drop of sweat that had trickled down my face. Although I was feeling dizzy because of the heat, I had no other choice except to pray that if they noticed my dedication, they would give me authorization to bail Celine or at least let me see her.
I wanted her to feel the comfort in knowing that no matter how sad her days may feel, I would always be there for her. I wished I could at least see her to cheer her up.
Steven and I hadn't talked since our last conversation, so there was no way for me to expect anything from him. It had been a week and every time I called him; he hung up on me before I could even hear the ring. I had attempted to visit him at the Carter Group multiple times, but the front desk would always tell me he had already gone.
Watching the people come and go at the station distracted me from the fact that I had to make a third trip to the hospital. I
