Summer’s POV

She grinned at me; her nails pricking my skin as her hand rose to deliver a slap to my cheek. Despite being in a weakened condition, I could read her movements and was able to force her back, successfully blocking her attempt to hit me.

As a result, she fell to the floor, eyes wide in surprise, while I felt the world around me become a blur. Fortunately, the solid metal of the hospital bed's railing provided support for my arm.
