Chapter 41

Ash's POV

I hightailed it out of the gala after giving Riley the silly excuse of having to do something. I had absolutely nothing to do. I thought about taking a ride with Van but then made a different decision.

"Yo, are you coming with me?" He asked me.

He had seen the interaction between Riley and me and I was sure he was worried for me because I looked so out of it. 

"No. I'll...I have somewhere else to be." I told him.

He was about to ask me exactly where I was headed when my driver arrived. I got into the car and gave him directions to my parent's place.

If there was one place where I could be myself without anybody judging me, it would be my parent's home. It was an over three hour journey but I was willing to risk it. I arrived late and my father who had been sleeping welcomed me with a frown. He said nothing apart from giving me a nod. I understood what that meant.
