Chapter 40

Riley's POV

The gown fits me perfectly. Like Rain said, it was like it was custom-made for me. I was ready to go to the gala. I knew Rain and I were already late and I also knew that Ash may have already been dressed, ready to go.  

I walked downstairs feeling insecure. I don't know what I was feeling but I sure as hell wasn't confident. And I don't know why I wasn't feeling confident in myself. I looked good. I was okay and I would also look good as Ash's better half. 

I think he saw the lack of confidence because when I got downstairs, he approached me and whispered in my ear.

"You look beautiful, you should be more proud with your head held high." He told me.

What he told me just made me realise that even though I should try to fight it. Even if I knew it was against all reasoning, I could not hold back from loving Ash. Fuck, I was already in love with him.

We got into the vehicle and then he made a joke about me being late. Mayb
