Chapter 15. Can’t Stay Without You

“Ugh!” Charlotte groaned at the blaring alarm from her nightstand. She reached for it and turned it off, or so she thought. She had put it on snooze mode, and after two minutes, it rang again.

Charlotte rolled to the other end of her bed, using the pillow to cover her ears; it still wasn’t helping.

She rolled over once more, blindly feeling the table for the alarm clock. Her hands mistakenly shoved the alarm clock, sending it off the table with a clatter as it hit the carpeted floor of her room.

“Good riddance!” Charlotte mumbled, pulling the covers over her head.

An ear-splitting sound encircled Charlotte’s room, startling her. She shot up from the bed, trying to stand up, but the bedsheets were tangled in her legs, and it made her fall off the bed. Priscilla couldn’t control her laughter; she laughed till her sides ached.
