Chapter 22. Gone Girl
Mr. Liam could not believe his eyes the next morning when he went to the shed, and Charlotte was nowhere to be found. He could not ask Mark where she was, as the young man had no idea that she was there in the first place, and asking him about her would only point out the fact that he was a liar, a cheat, and an irresponsible asshole. That would be bad for him; he could not let his son see just how much of a deadbeat he was.
He checked every nook and every corner of the shed and was worried that he did not find anything except for the destroyed rope, a broken bottle, and patches of dried blood on the floor. She may have escaped and gone to die someplace else, or maybe she had gone to the hospital.
