Chapter 62
It was with the excitement of Audrey’s admission that Gen all but floated into Zara's ward the next day. She had many reasons to be excited. Firstly, she knew from a credible source that the man she loved, loved her back. Her sister-in-love had heard and accepted her confession, giving her hope that everything would work out just fine.
Finally, she beamed at her daughter, now out of hospital gowns and back in her own clothes, legs swinging from the bed, Dom kneeling at her feet, tying her shoelaces; her baby was coming home.
“Momma!” Zara waved with her good hand. “Hi, Momma.” Dom looked up at her, and she saw his eyes light up as he smiled at her.
“Hi, baby.” She walked into the room.
“Who exactly? You need to make distinctions, you know. You’ve got two of us.” Dom said as he pulled her in for a kiss.
“Eew.” Zara giggled. “And no, Dom. I’m the only baby here. Right, Momma?”
“Yes, baby. You’re right.” Gen giggled.
“Did you sleep well?”
