Chapter 24. Wiles of Love
A week passed since that heart-wrenching night. Allison's tune at playing the piano had improved. She knew how to play the piano now. Her quick aptitude greatly impressed her instructor, and she heard less of sharp criticisms from her.
Everything was doing fine between her and Brent. But she became a little estranged from Brent after his drunken ordeal.
Allison worried less about the thing between them and focused her mind on her lessons. Perhaps Brent had noticed the slight change in her attitude, but she didn't want to care.
She had something more extreme to be anxious about. Allison knew she didn't have the right voice and had difficulty singing. She couldn't hit high notes and only sing calm songs like a lullaby.
However, her instructor, who rarely appreciated her performance, gave her a compliment that somewhat boosted her self-confidence.
