Chapter 52. Emotional and Physical Distances

“Can I ask you something?” Dave broke into Isabella’s thoughts and she turned to look at him.

“Yeah, sure.”

Dave pursed his lips. He was driving her back home after they had gone to see Alex. He had battled with the thoughts in his mind as he drove and decided to let it out. There was no harm asking.

“I am just kinda curious about Jane. It’s been a while since I last saw her,” he said and tried to watch Isabella’s reaction with the corners of his eyes. She had a small smile on her face.

“I mean, it’s just nice to ask after her since we have not spoken in a while, you know,” he quickly added and the smile progressed into a giggle.

“Why don’t you call her and find out yourself?” Isabella said and he shrugged.

“I don’t have her contact no more.”
