Chapter 53. Gossip

The meeting turned out to be worse than she imagined and Jane wished she had stayed back home. She had thought it was going to be an official one, turned out to be more of a party than a meeting. It was not a very lousy one like in a club house, but the loud music and lights made her sick which was quite unusual because she was the partying type.

There were prominent, wealthy businessmen and women quite alright but Jane wondered how they were going to discuss business in such an environment. It was not like she had anything doing there anyway. Fredrick had just brought her here to fill in the gap because the only thing she did was smile and said hello’s whenever he introduced her to anyone. She sat and walked beside him like a shadow.
