Chapter 127. Due Embrace

Maxwell looked at the mirror to see the expression on her face and he was satisfied with it.

“I need your help,” he said as if he was trying to get some groceries and speaking to the person behind the counter in a shop. “I need you to do something for me Peggy, will you?”

“Wakey-wakey,” Dave sang as he opened the door and walked into the room with a tray of hot tea and sliced bread and fried egg. Jane stirred on the bed sleepily and turned to look at him. He had freshened up and was all dressed and she wondered what time he had woken up. Jane suddenly remembered she was not wearing anything under the duvet and became conscious. She held unto it tightly so it does not fall off and expose her bare chest.

Her eyes searched for her night wear and she saw it lying on the floor some distance away where she could not get it. Dave noticed her and walked towards the bed. He picked the gown and waved it to her face.
