Chapter 129. Settled Choices

He had not even noticed Jane was in the room.

“Alright sir. Thank you so much for stopping by,” Mark said respectfully and Jane hummed inwardly. The man must be someone very important. She could not really say. She had been away too long to know what was going on after all and a lot had changed.

Jane stood up just before Mark bid the man goodbye and her manager was only able to see her when he had walked out of the room.

“Oh goodness Jane,” he called out, surprised to see her. “When did you arrive?”

He looked from her to the secretary as if asking why she did not notify him about Jane’s arrival and she shrugged, wondering if he had forgotten he was in there with a visitor.

“Not so long,” Jane smiled stressfully. She had been tired of waiting but what was the point saying so. At least, he was done with the meeting now.

“It’s been a while my dear, uhm, why don’t we go in to my office?” he ushered her in, pointing towards the door and she nodded.
