Chapter 67. Epilogue
“You look absolutely beautiful,” Jane dabbed her eyes, wiping off some invisible tears.
“Don’t be dramatic,” Isabella smiled, yet her heart was jumping in giddiness. She was facing a full-length mirror while Jane was behind her in a peach dress, a different shade from the rest of the bridal train.
“I’m your chief bridesmaid,” Jane twirled slightly. “Don’t blame me for being a little sentimental.”
The guests had already arrived, with the church filled to the brim. For a pair of antisocialists, this was impressive.
“Have you seen Alexander?” Isabella's curiosity got the best of her.
Jane smacked a hand on her head, inciting a slight sting.
“Ow. What did you do that for?” Isabella massaged the spot, glaring at Jane through her makeup-caked face.
“It’s bad luck to see the groom before the wedding. Everyone knows this.”
Isabella rolled her eyes in disbelief. “It’s bad luck for the bride, not the bridesmaid,” she pointed out.
