Chapter 18. No Good Coming Out of It…
Alex stood in front of the large mirror in the bedroom and looked at his reflection. His blue suit fitted him well like he had been born with it. It felt even better because his wife had designed it. But it was neither the cloth he was admiring nor the breath taking reflection looking back at him, but he was having a second thought about attending the party.
Dave and Isabella had finally managed to convince him to attend his father’s sudden and leery party. Isabella appeared behind him in a long black flowing gown and held him from behind. She rested her head on his broad shoulder, her hands round his waist. He turned round to look at her.
“You look beautiful,” he complimented and she smiled but there was an uncertainty behind that face. She suddenly had a dull feeling in her stomach about going for the party but she would rather not talk him out of going.
Whatever it was, she was willing and ready to fight it with him.
