Chapter 20. New Guest

There was a sudden silence in the room at the arrival of the new guests. Alex lifted his head to see the reason for the silence and his eyes met that of Maxwell’s whose face twitched into a sinister smile that was only visible to him.

Alexander felt like he was in a movie and everything was playing in a slow motion as his father hurried to welcome him and the woman beside him whom Alex had no idea who she was.
