Chapter 23. Rightful Position
“What do you take me for?” Hilda folded her hands around her chest and looked at Sinclair straight in the eyes. She was an elegantly tall woman, and without her heels she was almost reaching his height. She remembered how she would always lower her head when being spoken to years ago and would only speak when she was asked to.
“Hilda please calm down and listen to me,” Sinclair pleaded. He reached out to touch her but the glare she gave him made him retreat and take back his arm immediately. The shot from her eyes seemed to radiate a burning flame through his skin.
“You brought us to your house to get disrespected by those low lives. And you just stood there without a word. You could not even do anything. I thought you were a hard man Sinclair, but I just realized you were a weakling,” Hilda shook her head in disappointment. The statement hurt him so much. If there was anything Sinclair could not take, it was to be seen as weak.
