Chapter 27. Mother’s Visit
Isabella was seated in the living room and casually going through her phone. She spent fewer days at the office these days and preferred to sit at home and monitor what was going on in her absence online. She wondered where that sudden laziness was coming from but made no attempt to tackle it.
She enjoyed staying at home. It helped her spend more time with her son after school hours and prepare meals for her family. Peggy had jokingly said she should try running a restaurant because her cooking was superb.
And even though she was home, she had been very diligent with making and implementing designs which she would soon begin work on.
The doorbell rang.
“I will get it,” she said loudly so Peggy would hear and not come for it. She walked to the door and opened it.
“Mrs. Lisa,” Isabella called out uncertainly. “Good morning ma’am.”
Isabella wondered what had possibly brought the woman to their house. She had never visited them.
