Chapter 31. New Contract

Jane walked elegantly on her heels towards her boss’ office. It was one of the things to know how to do as a model, walk on very long pointed heels.

During her early days, when she saw some of the heels she had to try, Jane was ready to drop the career. She wondered how one was supposed to wear that and walk normally as if it was an extension of their leg. You have to confident as well and must not trip.

It was one of the things that gave her tough times when she first started her career but now she was an expert in using heels, any kind of heels.

Chris had commented her on that once. Talking about Chris, ever since the last time they were together and she had subsequently broken up the relationship, he had disappeared into thin air. No calls, no text messages whatsoever.

She had not meant it that way. They could still be friends. But perhaps, she had hurt him beyond measure.

What if he had moved on so soon and forgotten about her? Jane wondered. One co
