Chapter 30. Settling Pressures
For the rest of the day, try as he would, Alexander could not take his mind of the conversation he had with his mother that morning.
Somehow, he felt bad at the way he had dismissed her but really, there was nothing he could do about it.
It was something they both had to deal with and he did not want to dwell too much on that. He knew all they wanted to do was get his attention but the best way to react was ignore them and pretend he was not seeing all they were throwing at him.
But it might be difficult for his mother, because Hilda was now staying in the same house with her and he was sure she would try to make life unbearable for her. And his father would care less because of his selfish desires.
For the few past days, he always had slight headaches that came and go and he did not want to get any medication.
His mother crossed his thoughts again. For as far as he could collect, his mother had never requested anything from him except this. He scoffed;
